First steps after onboarding
What to do in the first 30 minutes after the wizard, in the right order.
The wizard left you on the dashboard. This guide walks you through the first 30 minutes: verify the subscription, complete master data, enable the modules you need and get fiscal compliance ready if you are going to invoice.
Reading time: ~7 min
When to use this
- You just completed the onboarding wizard and are seeing the dashboard for the first time.
- You want to operate without surprises (disabled buttons, missing modules, unconfigured fiscal module).
Before you start
- You are the business Owner (only the Owner completes the wizard).
- You continue the session started in the browser where the wizard ended.
Step by step
1. Verify your subscription
The wizard already charged the plan via Stripe Checkout and synced your subscription. Confirm that everything is fine:
- Go to Settings → Billing and subscription.
- Check that the listed plan (FREE, STARTER, PROFESSIONAL or ENTERPRISE) matches the one you chose.
- Verify that the status says Active or In trial.
If you see PAST_DUE, UNPAID or INCOMPLETE, open the Stripe portal from the same page and update your payment method. Until you resolve it, several actions remain blocked.
2. Use the dashboard checklist as a compass
On the dashboard, above the KPIs, you will see a "Configure your business" widget with 9 items and a progress bar. Each item takes you to the place where it is completed. It is designed to guide you in this order - go through it from top to bottom.
The widget hides itself only when you complete the 8 base items, dismiss it with the X, or your account reaches 30 days since creation.
3. Configure email and storage (integrations)
- Go to Settings → Integrations.
- Configure the tenant's email provider (you will use it to send invoices and notifications to clients). Without this, emails only go out if you have a provider configured.
- Configure storage (S3 / compatible) if you are going to attach files to documents.
4. Load your master data
Before invoicing you need, at minimum:
- Categories - the product catalog requires them. Create at least one in Products → Categories.
- Products or services - add them in Operations → Products. If you sell services, create them as a service-type product.
- Clients - at least one with their RNC/Cédula. You create it in Operations → Clients.
- Sales agents (optional) - if you handle commissions, create them in Operations → Sales agents.
Want to shortcut the setup to test the system? The checklist includes "Load sample data", which creates demo categories, products, clients and suppliers. Only use it in test businesses - the data stays in your database.
5. Enable the modules you need
Your plan already enabled the default modules. For the rest:
- Go to Settings → Modules.
- Enable the modules you are going to use (Inventory, Point of sale, Purchases, Accounting, Fiscal, etc.). If a module does not appear, your plan does not include it.
More details in Modules.
6. Configure the fiscal module if you are going to invoice
If you are going to issue invoices with fiscal value in the DR:
- Enable the Fiscal module in Settings → Modules.
- Go to Fiscal → Configuration and complete your RNC, legal name, address and tax regime.
- In Fiscal → Sequences, load the e-CF sequence ranges authorized by the DGII for each type of voucher you are going to issue.
- Upload the taxpayer's certificate in Fiscal → Certificate (or use the platform certificate by registering the delegation in the DGII Virtual Office).
Read Fiscal configuration, Sequences and e-CF certificate.
7. Invite your team
- Go to Settings → Users → Invite.
- Enter each member's email and choose a role for them.
- They will receive a code/email to join the business.
On roles and fine-grained permissions: Users, roles and permissions.
Expected outcome
- Your subscription appears Active.
- The dashboard configuration widget shows at least 5 of 8 items in green.
- You have at least one client, one product and one category created.
- If you are going to invoice fiscally, you have an RNC and at least one active e-CF sequence per type of voucher.
- Your collaborators already have invitations sent.
Common errors
| Error | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| "Create invoice" button disabled | A client, a product, or the Fiscal module is missing or unconfigured | Complete the missing data. If the button is still gray, review permissions with the Owner |
| Welcome email did not reach the invited user | Tenant email provider not configured | Configure it in Settings → Integrations and resend the invitation |
| The checklist does not appear on the dashboard | You dismissed it or your tenant is already more than 30 days old | It is by design. You can still complete the steps manually from the menu |
| "Plan does not allow this module" | You are trying to enable something above your tier | Upgrade your plan or ask whoever manages the account to do it |
